At the invitation of Prof. Vaclav Paces, president of the Czech Academy of Sciences, a CAS delegation led by President LU Yongxiang visited the Czech Republic from Dec. 11 to 13.
At the invitation of Prof. Vaclav Paces, president of the Czech Academy of Sciences, a CAS delegation led by President LU Yongxiang visited the Czech Republic from Dec. 11 to 13. During his stay, Prof. Lu held in-depth discussions with Prof. Paces on promoting academic exchanges and cooperation between the two academies. They signed an executive program on scientific collaboration between the two sides during the period from 2006 to 2010. The CAS delegation also visited the Institute of Thermomechanics of the Czech academy.
On Dec. 13, Prof. Lu, who is also vice chairman of the Standing Committee of China's top legislator NPC, met with a deputy speaker of the Czech House of Representatives. Prof. GUO Huadong, vice secretary-general of CAS, and Mr. Tang Guoqiang, Chinese Ambassador to the Czech Republic, were present at the meeting.
